End-grain cutting board for special tasks...

 The vertical arrangement of the wood makes the board more durable for chopping, heavy cutting or hacking. This is because the micro-tubes that nourish the tree run from the bottom to the top of the trunk. By placing them in this position on the cutting board, we ensure that the blades of knives/hatchets “slide”  between these micro tubes without leaving visible marks on the board surface.
